Archie Ray Cox Obituary (1946 - 2008)

Mr. Archie Cox, 62, of Bossier City, LA, formerly of Hopkins County died Monday, December 15, 2008 at his residence. \ He was born September 18, 1946, to the late James Walter Cox and Ethel Strayn Cox. He is also preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Moore and Virginia Turley; one brother, Bobby Cox. \ Mr. Cox retired from the Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He also retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #5951 in Bossier City, LA and a longtime member of the American Legion Post#6 in Madisonville, KY. \ He is survived by his son, James Walter Cox of Bossier City; three sisters, Marjorie Slate of White Plains, KY, Janie Winstead of Hanson, KY and Shirley Watson of Manitou, KY; two brothers, James Darrell Cox of Clarksville, TN and Jimmy Cox of Madisonville. \ Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 20, 2008, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Sam Beeny officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville. \ Friends may call on Friday, December 19, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM and after 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 20, 2008, at the funeral home. \
