Charles Douglas Whitfield

Mr. Charles Douglas Whitfield, 80, of Madisonville, KY, died Thursday, February 1, 2007, at 5:25 P.M., at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. \ Born September 2, 1926, in Hopkins County, KY, he was the son of the late Pratt Smith Whitfield and Phyllis Marie Brand Whitfield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers. \ He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madisonville; a member of the Madisonville Masonic Lodge #143 F Scottish Rite; Rizpah Shrine Temple; National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors, Inc. He was a W.W.II Army veteran and was retired from River Queen Coal Mines. \ Mr. Whitfield is survived by his wife, Anna Lou Strock Whitfield of Madisonville; a daughter and son-in-law, Lou Ann and Jimmie Ray Sr. of Madisonville and three grandchildren and their spouses, Jamie and Emily Ray, Katie and Jake Wyatt and Joe Ray. \ Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 4, 2007, at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Marshall Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Bartlett, Ron Chester, Odell Hamby, Tom Gamblin, Darrell Moore and Jake Wyatt. \ Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 A.M. until the services.
