Clydie Forbes Gordon Obituary (1920 - 2005)

Mrs. Clydie Gordon, 84, of Madisonville, KY died at 8:10 A.M. Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the NHC Healthcare. \ Born November 20, 1920 in Hopkins County, KY she was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Forbes and Leora Bell Duke Forbes. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bud Gordon on March 5, 1988; two daughters, Roberta Fowler and Roxanne Gordon; four sisters, Rebecca Scott Denny, Senora Forbes, Enola LaGrande and Viola Lawrence; seven brothers, James Ola Forbes, Otis Forbes, Arthur Forbes, Clarence Forbes, Cecil Forbes, M.C. Forbes and J.T. Forbes. \ She worked in the Linen Department of the Hospital Services and retired in 1985. She was a member of the Concord General Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Jolly Seniors and the Womens Missionary Society. \ She is survived by one son, Charles A. Gordon of Madisonville; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. \ Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 20, 2005 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Gordon, Tim Gordon, Harold Fowler, Chuck Gordon, Jim Gordon and Andrew McFadden. \ Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday and on Sunday after 9:00 A.M. until the service at the funeral home. \ Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to the Gideons International.
