Eathel A. Rhodes Obituary (1920 - 2004)

Mrs. Eathel A. Rhodes, 83, of Madisonville, KY died at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 3, 3004, at the home of her granddaughter in Madisonville. \ Born August 17, 1920, in Hopkins County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Lummie and Florence Bratcher Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, B. L. Rhodes, on September 16, 1988. \ She married B. L. Rhodes on January 16, 1938. Mrs. Rhodes was the former owner of Rhodes Propane Gas and she was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Madisonville. She was a member of the Lioness Club, she organized the KCA Homemakers, and did volunteer work. \ She is survived by her daughter, Judith Rhodes-Rightley of Sellersburg, IN; a granddaughter and caretaker, Julie Beth Rightley of Madisonville; a grandson, Christopher Rhodes Rightley of Sellersburg; and two brothers, Harold Smith of Evansville, IN, and Sim Smith of Panama City, FL. \ Funeral services will be Monday, June 7, 2004, at 1:00 P.M., at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Tondra Daugherty officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. \ Visitation will be Sunday, June 6, 2004, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. \ Pallbearers will be Edward Rightley, Christopher Rightley, Steve Wynn, Tom Nance, and Leroy Veazey. \ Memorials may take the form of contributions to: Volunteer Association, Regional Medical Center, Attn: Mary Frances Hartford, 900 Hospital Drive, Madisonville, KY 42431. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
