Garland Dempsey \Blue\"" Rickard Obituary (1936 - 2006)

Mr. Garland Dempsey Blue Rickard, 70, of Anton, KY, died Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at 8:00 P.M. at his residence. \ Born September 11, 1936, in Hopkins County, KY, he was the son of the late Willoughby Litt Rickard and Roberta Davis Rickard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Rickard; a brother, Ray Rickard, and three sisters, Phyllis Keown, Lucille Pryor and Ilene Daugherty. \ He retired after 37 years from Cimmaron Coal Company. \ Mr. Rickard is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janie Renfro Rickard of Anton; three daughters, Donna Marie Sutton and Diane Davis, both of Madisonville and Marilyn Duncan of Hanson, KY; a son, Mike Rickard of Madisonville; a sister, Carolyn Fireline of Anton; two brothers, Wayne Rickard of Nortonville, KY, and Louis Rickard of Madisonville; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. \ Funeral services will be Saturday, December 9, 2006, at 2:00 P.M., at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Winstead officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. \ Visitation will be Friday, December 8, 2006, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and from 10:00 A.M. until the service time on Saturday at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be Scott Sellers, Mark Offutt, Mike Sutton, Robert Duncan, Joe Anzalone, Bill Davis, Johnny Plunkett and Ricky Plunkett. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Rickard, Johnny Boswell, Gary Crabtree, Jimmy Don Dickinson, Danny Coffman and Charlie Collins. \
