George Donald Cunningham Obituary (1938 - 2005)

Mr. George Donald Don Cunningham, 66, of Manitou, KY died at 4:30 P.M. Friday, July 8, 2005, at Regional Medical Center Emergency Room in Madisonville. \ Born November 20, 1938 in Martin Tennessee. \ He was preceded in death by his father, George Lee Cunningham. \ He retired as an environmental consultant for McCoy & McCoy Laboratories after 17 years and was also a Madisonville City fireman for 8 years. He was a member of Concord General Baptist Church and on the Republican Presidential Honor Roll. He was also a US Air Force Veteran and a Honorary Kentucky Colonel. \ He is survived by his wife; Jamie Giles Cunningham; his mother, Millie Grissom Cunningham of Madisonville; one daughter, Kari Holt of Hardinsburg, KY; one son, Troy Cunningham of Evansville, IN; one brother Bill Cunningham of Madisonville and seven grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at the Concord General Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Fleming and Rev. J.D. Holt officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Durham, Jeff Travis, Ken Ivy, John Crockett, Shane Webster and Jami Smith. \ Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the service at the church. \ Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to the Concord General Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \ \
