Hugh Vann Weaver, Sr. Obituary (1929 - 2011)

Hugh Vann Weaver, Sr., 82, of Madisonville died Friday September 23, 2011 at Regional Medical Center. He was born June 6, 1929 to the late Lonnie Blair and Fannie Mary Thompson Weaver. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Henrietta Sheriff Weaver. \ He is survived by a daughter, Tonya Ann Piper, Madisonville, KY; two sons, Hugh Vann Weaver, Jr., Pittsburgh, PA, and Thomas Blair Weaver, Leverne, TN; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. \ Mr. Weaver attended Watertown High School, Watertown, TN, where he was the captain of the basketball team. He served with the United States Army during the Korean War. After his service to his country he went to work for Bell South where he had a long career of 35 years. Upon retirement he started a new career of his first love of farming. \ Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 26, 2011 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Kerry Smith officiating. \ Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday and 9:00 A.M. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. \ There will also be visitation Monday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday after 9:00 A.M. at the Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown, TN. Funeral service at the Hunter Funeral Home will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Watertown, TN. \ Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Parkinsons disease. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
