Ilah Ruth Parker Obituary (1926 - 2010)

\ Ilah Ruth Parker, 84, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 4:45 A.M., Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at NHC Healthcare in Madisonville. \ She was born March 24, 1926 in Hopkins Co., KY to the late Flora and J.E. Carver. She is also preceded in death by brothers, Curtis, Perry, Tommy and Raymond Carver; two husbands, Cicero Link and Hubert Parker and three grandchildren. \ Mrs. Parker was a life-long member of Zion Brick Baptist Church in Slaughters. She was owner of Ruths Stout Shoppe in Madisonville and secretary for Kentucky Division of Reclamation. She was also an accomplished seamstress. \ She is survived by a brother, Hayden (Bettye) Carver of Slaughters; sons, Larry (Trudy) Parker of Hanson; Gary (Shelly) Parker of Providence; John Mark (Ginger) Parker of Henderson; daughters, Carolyn (Jim) Townsend of Dixon; Faye (Mel) Mier of Slaughters and Gloria Hanlon of Providence along with 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Rideout with burial to follow in West Lawn Cemetery. \ Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday and after 8:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons. \ Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International. Envelopes will available at the funeral home. \
