Iva Ray Branson Obituary (1924 - 2005)

Mrs. Iva Ray Branson, 80, of Madisonville, KY, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at 3:01 P.M., at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. \ Born August 6, 1924, in Hanson, KY, she was the daughter of the late Ivy Ernest Winstead and Jessie Manora Adams Winstead. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jack Branson on May 28, 1976, and by two sisters, Anna Mae Branson and Sarah Grace Winstead. \ She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madisonville and a member of Daughters of the Nile. She had been a psychiatric social worker and a longtime grade school teacher for the Hopkins County School System. \ Mrs. Branson is survived by her son, Jack Lynn Branson of Cumming, GA; two brothers, David Leon Winstead and Earl Franklin Winstead, both of Madisonville; two grandchildren, David Adams Branson and Penny Lee LeBaron, both of Cumming, GA; and two great grandsons, Taylor Branson LeBaron and Elliott Byron LeBaron, both of Cumming. \ Funeral services will be Saturday, July 2, 2005, at 2:00 P.M., at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery in Hanson. \ Visitation will be Friday, July 1, 2005, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and from 12:00 noon until the service time on Saturday at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be David Branson, Monte Nesmith, Bob Hall, Steve Winstead, David Winstead, and Cleveland Winstead. \ Memorials may take the form of donations to Focus Ministries. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
