Jack John Harrah Obituary (1938 - 2014)

\ Jack Harrah, 76, of Hanson, KY passed away July 30, 2014 at his residence. \ \ He was born April 24, 1938 in Beaver, WV to the late Gertie Plumley Lucas. He was also preceded in death by two sisters; Pat Simms and Janie Bellamy. \ \ Mr. Harrah was owner and operator of Harrah's Hose and Hydraulics for 40 years. He loved hunting, fishing, NASCAR, and motorcycles. He was a US Army veteran. \ \ He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Judy; one son, Jack (Shelly) Willyard of Madisonville; two step-sons Jerry Hughes of Hanson and Danny Hughes of Bowling Green, KY; two sisters, Phillis Mingo of Huntington, WV and Jeannie Williams of Montgomery, WV; four grandchildren, Chris Willyard, Luke Willyard, Autumn Willyard, and Feonia Hughes, whom he raised as his daughter; and one great grandchild, Lincoln Daniel Willyard; and his extended family, Sheila, Will, and Caitlin Metcalfe. \ \ Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Don Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Hanson Cemetery. \ \ Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday and from noon until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. \ \ Pallbearers will be Chris Davis, Keith Williams, Willis Osborne, Gary Thorpe, Billy Carsten, and Kevin Crook. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Florida and Jimmy Daugherty. \ \ Memorial contributions may be made to the Hopkins County Humane Society, the Jewish Hospital Liver Transplant Unit, or Baptist Health Hospice. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home. \ \
