James Harold Blake Obituary (1928 - 2016)

James Harold Blake, 88, of Springfield, MO, formerly of Madisonville, KY passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield. Mr. Blake was born on April 29, 1928, in Hopkins County, KY, to the late Marshall Blake and Nellie Mary Cobb Blake. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Corinne Teague Blake of Madisonville, KY; his eldest son, Stephen Michael Blake of Santiago, Chili; and two sisters, Mamie Campbell of Owensboro, KY and Leola Blake Cheek of Madisonville. James worked at the state Fire Marshall's office for the State of Kentucky. He attended Olive Branch Baptist Church in Madisonville. He was also employed by Aztar as a dealer. He is survived by one daughter, Gloria Baker of Springfield, MO; one son, Justin David Blake of Palm Springs, CA; two step-sons, Robert Teague of Morganfield, KY and David Teague of Henderson, KY; one sister, Jewell Winstead of Madisonville; one brother, Kenneth Blake of San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. David Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West at 2:00 P.M. in Hopkinsville, KY. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Perry Cheek, Allen Cheek, Craig Winstead, Joshua Blake, Matthew Blake, Bryan Teague, Eric Teague, and Justin Griffin.
