Joe Davis Rogers

Mr. Joe Davis Rogers, 87, of Evansville, IN and formerly of Madisonville, KY died at 4:15 P.M. Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at the Heritage Nursing Home in Evansville. \ Born October 5, 1916 in Hopkins County, KY he was the son of the late Frank Eugene Rogers and Mattie Lou Payne Rogers. \ He was a retired truck driver for the Detroit Molding Engineering and a member of the Madisonville Bible Baptist Church. \ He is survived by his wife, Lucille Rogers of Evansville; five daughters; Rhoella Lansden of Bowling Green, KY, Peggy Austin of Hobe Sound, FL, Becky Mercer of Madisonville; Sandy Smith of Bowling Green, KY and Amy Carroll of Bowling Green; two sons, Rudy Rogers and Ray Rogers, both of Madisonville; five stepsons; Travis Jones, Jerry Jones, Joe Jones, Gordon Jones and Keith Jones; two stepdaughters, Linda Montejano and Connie Samples; one brother, Frank Buddy Rogers Jr. of Paducah, KY ;one half-brother, Kerry Eugene Rogers of Somerset, KY; thirty grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 12, 2004 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Pastor Maurice Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery in Nebo, KY. \ Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the service at the funeral home. \ Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to the Parkinsons Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
