Laura Sue Groves Obituary (1932 - 2011)

Mrs. Laura Sue Groves, 79, of Madisonville, passed away at 4:35 A.M. Monday, May 2, 2011, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home. \ She was born February 21, 1932 in Hopkins County KY to the late James Wallace Oates and Iva May Buchanan Oates. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Wayne Oakley and her second husband, Elbert Groves; one son, James Keith Groves and one brother, Jimmy T. Oates. \ Mrs. Groves was member of Liberty Baptist Church in Madisonville. \ She is survived by four daughters, Cynthia Oakley of Madisonville, Dianne (Russell) Rowley of Gainesville, FL, Connie Slaton and Karen (Michael) Faulk, both of Madisonville; one son, Kevin (Nancy) Lynn Groves of Madisonville; one sister, Betty Cates of Madisonville; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. \ Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Tondra Daugherty officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery in Hanson, KY. \ Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday and after 12:00 noon on Wednesday until the service time at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be Michael Slaton, Steven Rowley, Dwayne Cates, David Cates, Casey Spain and Austin Sedgwick. \
