Leonard W. Curneal Obituary (1944 - 2007)

Mr. Leonard W. Curneal, 63, of Madisonville, KY died at 7:28 P.M. Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the Regional Medical Center. \ Born March 15, 1944 in Hopkins County, KY he was the son of the late Melvin Curneal and Ada Lee Parker Curneal. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Floretta Curneal on December 27, 2006, one brother and one sister. \ He was a coal miner for Pyro Coal Company and a member of the Star of Bethlehem Apostolic Church. He was a Vietnam War Army veteran and received the Purple Heart. \ He is survived by three daughters; Marketa Keown of Madisonville, Tammy Vaughn of Princeton, KY and Becky Jager of Cadiz, KY; five sisters, Wanda Tiry of Henderson, Mary Franklin of Providence, KY, Estelle Ipock of Madisonville, Barbara Skimehorn of Nortonville, KY and Brenda Crowley of Madisonville; one brother Roger Curneal of Princeton, IL; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 16, 2007 at the Star of Bethlehem Apostolic Church with Rev. Monty Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the Ilsley Cemetery with Graveside Military rites conducted by the VFW Post# 5480 and the American Legion Post #6. Pallbearers will be Shaun Jager, Colton Jager, Kevin Dzikowski, Chris Nichols, Christian Manrique and Shawn Slayton. \ Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday and on Saturday from 9:00 P.M. until 11:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
