Martha Jean Wise Jones

Martha Jean Wise Jones, 93 of Madisonville, KY passed away, Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville.
She was born April 11, 1923 in Dawson Springs, KY to the late Manuel C. Wise and Cynthia Ruth Ramsey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Joseph William Jones, Jr.
and two sisters, Marietta Wise Chamberlain and Billie Wise Young.
Martha was a member at First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed needlework, making crafts, and watching sports. She was a St. Louis Cardinals and Alabama Football fan. She loved playing solitaire and most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by one daughter, Cindy Jones of Madisonville, and one son, Joseph W. 'Bill' (Kelly) Jones III; three grandsons, Brian Jones, Brock Jones, and Derek Townsend; and one great grandson, Maxwell Joseph Jones.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 5, 2016 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Don Davis and Rev. J.W. Durst officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 10:00 A.M Thursday until the service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Brian Jones, Brock Jones, Derek Townsend, Kirk Chamberlain, Doug Ellis, and Mike Beauchamp.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
