Mary Ann Thursby Obituary (1961 - 2015)

\ \ Mary Ann Thursby, 53, of Manitou, KY passed away, Monday, February 2, 2015 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. \ Ms. Thursby was born October 3, 1961 in Hopkins Co, KY. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elmer and Mary Harris and her mother, Serena Clark. \ She was a member of Manitou Baptist Church. She worked at K-Mart for 27 years. She enjoyed singing, playing guitar and writing music. She was a volunteer at the Little Bethel office and Baptist Health. She loved horses and loved God all the way to the end. \ Ms. Thursby is survived by her best friends, Linda Vanvactor of Hanson and Linda Walters of Hanson; her Aunt, Alice Rittenhouse of Madisonville and two Uncles, Danny (Judy) Harris of Hanson and Ray (Cheryl) Harris of Madisonville, and her extended family Louise Walters and the entire Walters family. \ Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday February 7, 2015 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Beeny and Dr. Bob Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery in Hanson. \ Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday and after 9:00 A.M. on Saturday at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be David Walters, Rick Walters, Mike Walters, Ron Walters, Tracy Vanvactor and J.B. Vanvactor. Jeremy Harris will serve as an honorary pallbearer. \ Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Foundation.
