Oscar Lee Locke, Jr. Obituary (1926 - 2007)

Mr. Oscar Lee Locke, Jr., 80, of Madisonville, KY died at 5:10 P.M. Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at the Regional Medical Center. \ Born April 25, 1926 in Madisonville, he was the son of the late Oscar Locke Sr. and Ida Leane Hanley Locke. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Margaret Locke, one brother, Jim Locke, one sister, Betty Cunningham and one grandson, Chad Harper. \ He was a carpenter and retired from Purolator Courier of Evansville. He was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the 40 and 8 American Legion. He was a WW II Navy veteran having served in the Asiatic and Pacific Campaign. He enjoyed fishing. \ He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Shelia Locke of Madisonville; two daughters, Sandy Corneal and Sharon Locke, both of Madisonville; one stepson, Rick Pryor of Madisonville; one step-daughter who was his caretaker, Darlene Scott of Madisonville; one sister, Audrey Cunningham of Madisonville; three brothers and sister-in-law, Don Locke of Milwaukee, WI , Vernon and Mona Locke of Milwaukee, WI and Kenneth Locke of Marion, KY; nine grandchildren, Chad Locke, Chris Corneal, Trevor Corneal, Kevin Corneal, Chris Stokes, Stacy Brady, Brad Pryor, Andy Gill and Heath Harper; eight great-grandchildren, Nathan Locke, Brandin Stokes, Shelby Vandygriff, Holden Brady, Trey Brady, Krystalin Brady, Kylee Brady and Shae Pryor. \ Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Cannon and Rev. Heath Harper officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery where there will be Military Graveside rites conducted by the Madisonville American Legion #6, VFW Post #5480 and American Legion Post #2 of Earlington \ Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the services at the funeral home. \ Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
