Patsy Blakeley Higdon

Patsy Blakeley Higdon, 74, of Madisonville passed away, Friday, July 03, 2015 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.
Mrs. Higdon was born December 2, 1940 in Mortons Gap, KY to the late Milburn "Boots" Kennett and Mary Susan "Sudie" Boyd Kennett. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Donald W. Blakeley; sister, Gaynell Whitfield and brother, Norris Kennett.
She retired after 28 years of teaching at White Plains Elementary, Southside Elementary and South Hopkins Middle. She was a member of the Grapevine Baptist Church in Madisonville. Patsy and her husband worked for Wilkerson Jewelry Liquidators for 10 years. She loved ballroom dancing, gardening, traveling, and spoiling her grandkids and great grandkids.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Leon Higdon of Madisonville; one daughter, Ginger Blakeley of Madisonville; one son, Todd (Cammie) Blakeley of White Plains, KY; step-sons, Mickey (Becky) Blakeley of Madisonville and Trae (Lori) Higdon of Paducah; step-daughter, Heather Higdon of Paducah, KY grandchildren, Brittany (Travis) Marsh, Blake (Brittany) Hibbs, Coda Blakeley, Christian Blakeley, and Camden Blakeley; step grandchildren, Kara (Rusty) Smiley and Leah (Pat) Smith; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 6, 2015 at Grapevine Baptist Church with Dr. Bob Morrison and Rev. Weyman McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in White Plains.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until service time on Monday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Blake Hibbs, Coda Blakeley, Travis Marsh, Troy Blakeley, Bill Herring, and Jimmy Foster.
