Richard \Rick\"" D. McGregor Obituary (1949 - 2012)

\ Richard Rick D. McGregor of Dawson Springs, KY died on Friday, June 29, 2012 at his residence. \ \ He was born March 13, 1949 in Hopkins County, KY to the late Charles William McGregor and Helen Groves McGregor. He as also proceeded in death by one sister, Debbie McGregor and two brothers, Billy McGregor and Tony McGregor. \ \ Mr. McGregor was a member of the Nebo Refuge Worship Center. He retired as a maintenance supervisor from NHC Heathcare. He served two terms in Vietnam and he loved hunting, fishing and carving. \ \ He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Buchanan McGregor; one daughter, Kathy McGregor of Dawson Springs; two sons, Richard Dale (Vickie) McGregor Jr. of Dawson Springs and Robert D. McGregor of Madisonville; two sisters, Luci (George) Davis of St. Charles, KY and Connie Mathis of Madisonville; one brother, John (Linda) McGregor of Dawson Springs; one granddaughter, Abigail McGregor of Dawson Springs and several nieces and nephews. \ \ Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville with military honors conducted by the Hopkins County Honor Guard. \ \ Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, July 2, 2012 and after 12:00 noon until the service time on Tuesday. \ \ Pallbearers will be Richard McGregor Jr., Keith Thompson, Ricky Terry, Danny Belcher, Roger Jones and Randy Blanchard. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Cunningham and Elmo Kennedy. \ \ Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \ \
