Robert "Sarge" Lynn Taylor Obituary (1957 - 2016)

Robert 'Sarge' Lynn Taylor, 58, of Graham, KY passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Owensboro Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY. Mr. Taylor was born July 29, 1957 in Detroit, MI, to Norma Jean Hill Taylor and the late Bob Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his three fur babies, Izzie, Tazz, and Sergeant. Mr. Taylor worked as a combat engineer and retired from the U.S. Army and Wendell H. Ford Training Center. He was a member of American Legion Post 6, where he was the director of the American Legion Riders, and the Central City Eagles. He loved being around friends and family. He loved his children and his grandchildren. He enjoyed nascar, traveling, grilling and cooking, and riding his Harley. He was an assistant cook on Sippin and Dippin Grill Team. He is survived by his fianc, Kathy Mayberry, with whom he made his home; three daughters, Carrie (Eric) Duke of Madisonville, Lisa (Michael) Moritz of Wheelersburg, OH, and Jamie (Shawn) West of Island, KY; one sister, Teresa (Kevin) Draper of LaCenter, KY; nine grandchildren, SkyLynn McCay, Kayla McCay, Raven McCay, Nickalos Moritz, JoLee Moritz, Jaxson Moritz, Tyler West, KyLee West, and Ashton-Chase West, and his fur baby, Jazzy; along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Ross Boger officiating. Burial will be follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday and from 10:00 A.M. until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Travis Williams, Scott McLevain, Don Ryan, Chris Carroll, Jimmy Stacer, James Lutz, and Rod Ellison. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions to be made to the American Legion Riders Post 6 or the Chris Kyle Foundation. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
