Ross Thomas Turner Obituary (1963 - 2011)

Ross Thomas Turner, 48, of Louisville and Madisonville, died May 7, 2011. He was born February 20, 1963 to Jean and Tom Turner of Madisonville. He was a member of the 1981 class of Madisonville-North Hopkins High School, and a graduate of the University of Louisville. He received a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Kentucky, College of Law in 2001. \ He served as a law clerk for the Honorable Joseph H. McKinley, Jr., United District Court Judge in Owensboro, from 2001-2003. Following that time he had a private practice in Louisville and with his father in Madisonville. \ Ross loved the study and practice of law. His years at UK Law and his clerkship were among the happiest in his life. He loved his family especially his beloved Papo, the late Richard T. Smith of Anton and his Daddy Tom who instilled in him a love of the outdoors and was his attorney role model. Ross had a feel for the most lowly and needy among us. \ Those who mourn his passing include his wife, Katherine Turner and his stepchildren, Brendan, Sean, and Rachel Christ of Louisville, his parents, Jean and Tom Turner and his sister, Buffy of Madisonville, his sister, Michelle and brother-in-law Steve Hacker of Crestwood, his grandmother, Mary Fonda Smith of Anton, his late Uncle Buds wife, Gigi Smith, and aunts, Mary Lou Chilton of Nashville, Jonelle Tribble of Trenton and Dean Norfleet of Hopkinsville. \ A private family burial will be at Bethlehem Christian Church in Anton. \ There will be a gathering of friends and fellow travelers to celebrate Rosss life Sunday May 15, 2011 from 2:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the home of his parents, 1705 Grampian Hill Drive in Madisonville.
