Shirley Ashby Kembel Obituary (1936 - 2005)

Mrs. Shirley Ashby Kembel, 68, of Madisonville, KY died at 5:44 P.M. Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the Regional Medical Center. \ Born September 10, 1936 in Madisonville, KY she was the daughter of the late David Hewlett Ashby and Audrey Vaden Qualls Ashby. She was also preceded by one brother, W.R. Ashby in 1939. \ She retired after 42 years as a construction secretary with the Kentucky State Highway Dept and was a member of the Madisonville First Christian Church. \ She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Kembel of Madisonville; two brothers, Raymond Ashby of Dawson Springs, KY and Bobby Ashby of Hanson, KY; three nieces and four nephews. \ Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 5, 2005 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Adcock and Rev. Don McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lanny Ashby, Danny Ashby, Eric Kembel, Scotty Kembel, Lige Arnold and T.C. Chambers. \ Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the service at the funeral home. \ Memorials may take the form of donations to the Suthards Christian Church of Earlington, KY. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \ \
