T. D. \Tom\"" Rawlins Obituary (1923 - 2004)

Mr. T.D. Tom Rawlins, 80, of Madisonville, KY died at 9:45 P.M. Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at his home. \ Born December 31, 1923 in Christian County, KY he was the son of the late Lester Rawlins and Elizabeth Wilkins Rawlins. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Hattie Jane Rawlins on November 11, 2000 and one brother, Roy Rawlins. \ He was a brakeman for the L&N Railroad for 40 years and a member of the Parkview Methodist Church. He was a member of the U.T.U. and the Thomas & Bridges Association. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran. \ He is survived by his wife, Dolly Cunningham-Stokes Rawlins of Madisonville, whom he married on September 15, 2002; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Ed Lester of Decatur, AL and Debbie and Mike Stinnett of Almo, KY; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Beverly Rawlins of Madisonville; one sister, Dorothy Guthrie of Hopkinsville, KY; two brothers, Clay Rawlins of Gracey, KY and Jack Rawlins of Hopkinsville; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 27, 2004 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Lon Lorton officiating. Burial will follow in the Rawlins Cemetery in Pembroke, KY. Pallbearers will be his family. \ Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday and on Friday after 8:00 A.M. at the funeral home. \ Memorials may take the form of donations to the Green River Hospice or the Gideons International. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
