Welby B. Ray, Jr. Obituary (1928 - 2010)

Welby Ray, Jr. passed away at his home in Hartford on October 7, 2010. He was 82 years old. \ He was born in Hopkins Co., Madisonville, KY on June 21, 1928. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS. He was a WWII Marine Corp Veteran. He was a dragline operator for Andalex Coal Company for 25 years. \ He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Crawford Ray and his parents, Welby B. Ray, Sr. and Mary Galloway Ray, a brother, James Ray and sister, Martha Evans. \ He is survived by two sisters, Ava Hill of Hillsboro, OR and Dr. and Janice Branaman of Winchester, TN, and one brother, Talmage Ray of Morgantown, KY. \ Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Sunday, October 10, 2010, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Mr. Valkye Addington officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Madisonville. \ Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Saturday and after 9:00 A.M., Sunday at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be Dan Peery, Valkye Addington, Sammie Crawford, Michael Hines, Garrett Addington and Kyle Addington. \ In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to Hospice of Ohio Co.. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
