William H. \Sweety\"" Blanchard Obituary (1921 - 2011)

William H. Sweety Blanchard, 90, of Nebo, KY passed away on Saturday, August 20th, 2011 at NHC Health Care of Madisonville. \ He was born March 1, 1921 in Coiltown, KY to the late Mr. James Jacob Blanchard and Cynthia Cordia Huddleston Blanchard. He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. \ He was a member of Coiltown Pentecostal Church. He worked as a coal miner for Island Creek Coal Co. and was a US Army World War II veteran. He was also a member of the U.M.W.A. \ He is survived by his wife, Katherine Bryant Blanchard; three daughters, Edith (Johnny) Whitfield of Providence, KY Emily (Jim) Parrish of Providence, and Connie (Jerry) Benger of Nebo; two sons, James Lincoln (Sue) Blanchard of Madisonville and Shelly Blanchard of Providence. He is also survived by four grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. \ Pallbearers will be Jerry Rudd, Michael Whitfield, Chip Whitfield, Shelly Blanchard, Tristan Dukes, Mark Lewis, and Jacob Campbell. \ Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Sisk and Bro. Richard Sorrells officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Creek Cemetery in Nebo. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Hopkins County Honor Guard and the Patriot Guard. \ Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday and from noon until the service hour on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. \
