William \Jockey\"" Gunn Obituary (1925 - 2011)

Mr. William Jockey Gunn 86, of Madisonville, KY passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville. \ He was born July 14, 1925 in Hopkins Co., KY to the late John Andrew and Allene McCartney Gunn. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nanna Belle Haley Gunn; one daughter, Donna June Gunn; six sisters and two brothers. \ Mr. Gunn was a U.S. Navy Veteran of W.W. II and employed as a coal miner for 35 years at the Island Creek mine. He also was a member of the Madisonville Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. \ He is survived by four sons, Joseph (Michelle) Gunn of Madisonville; Paul (Debbie) Gunn of Morganfield, KY; Tommy (Judy) Gunn of Dawson Springs, KY and Michael (Janette) Gunn of Madisonville, KY; one sister, Loretta James of Madisonville; one brother, Rufus Gunn of Clio, MI; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. \ Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bishop Kevin Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville. \ Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday and after 12:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. \ Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Hopkins Co. Honor Guard. \
