Catherine M. Young Obituary (1954 - 2018)

Catherine 'Kathy' Young, 63, of Madisonville, KY passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville. She was born on August 11, 1954 in Madisonville to the late Freeman Francis and Alma Marie Gossett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Young; two sisters and one brother. Kathy worked as a cook at Country Cupboard. She loved visiting with her grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter, Michelle (Rick) Collins of Madisonville; two sons, Jamie (Amanda) Messamore of Madisonville and Jeremy Messamore of Madisonville; two sisters, Wanda Bone of Madisonville and Betty Bailey of Madisonville; one brother, Gary Francis of Kansas; four grandchildren, Tyler Messamore, Brandon Messamore, Zackary Messamore, and Grayson Messamore; and one niece, Crystal (Martin) Grenier; and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jamie Messamore, Jeremy Messamore, Tyler Messamore, Zackary Messamore, Rick Collins, and Martin Grenier. Honorary pallbearer will be Grayson Messamore.
