Curtis Carroll Brown Obituary (1940 - 2009)

\ Mr. Curtis Carroll Brown, 69, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away at 3:57 A.M., Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at his residence. \ He was born March 20, 1940 in Hopkins Co., KY to the late William Brown and Gertrude Parker Brown Franklin. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Claude Franklin and two brothers, Rev. Morris and Howard Brown. \ Mr. Brown was a Member of Suthards Missionary Baptist Church where he was chairman of the Deacons. He was also a member of the Earlington Masonic Lodge #548. He worked at Birmingham Bolt for 20 years and had been employed with the Kentucky Department of Transportation since 1991. \ He is survived by his wife, Nancy Brown of Dawson Springs, KY; one son, David (Johnna) Brown of Madisonville; one daughter, Karla Brasher of Madisonville; two sisters, Evelyn (Arley) Wilson of Greensburg, KY and Fay Gary of Dawson Springs; two brothers, Ray (Martha) Brown of Earlington, Garland (Patsy) Brown of Dawson Springs; a step-brother, Elwood Franklin of Breman, KY and five grandchildren, Kayleigh and Kendra Brasher, Braydee, Morgan and Mary-Ella Brown all of Madisonville. \ Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. George Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in New Suthards Cemetery. \ Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday and after 11:00 A.M. Saturday until the service time at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be Randy Martin, Kevin Martin, Tim Brown, Bill Brown, Terry Gary and Mark Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Gary, Dennis Brown, Troy Brown, Nick Brown and Gary Wilson. \ Memorial Contributions may take the form of donation to the Suthards Missionary Baptist Church building fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
