David Curneal

David Michael Curneal, 66, of McKenzie, TN, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026, in Crofton, KY.
He was born on February 2, 1960, in Madisonville, KY to the late David William Curneal and Lois Faughender Shimmin. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Curneal.
David worked for the Kentucky Highway Department. When he was not at work, he would often be found fishing, eating, or gardening. He especially loved his grandchildren and his dog, Sammy,
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Boozer of McKenzie, TN; his daughter, Kimberly (Derek) Mullinix; his son, David (Samantha) Curneal; his sister, Melinda Sisk; his grandchildren, Sydney and Bella Mullinix, and Dylan and Elanea Curneal; and his beloved dog, Sammy.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday July 29, 2026, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home – Madisonville Chapel. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Eddyville, KY.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
