Edward "Mitch" Mitchell Steele Obituary (1930 - 2016)

Edward 'Mitch' Mitchell Steele, 85, of Madisonville, KY passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville. Mr. Steele was born November 15, 1930 in Muhlenberg County, KY to the late James Steele and Izora Steele. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary G. Steele; two grandsons, Jason and Michael Steele; two brothers, Bill and Glenn Steele; and one sister, Joyce Dukes. Mr. Steele co-owned Steele, Hoodenpyle, and Roberts Insurance Agency. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Earlington. He was an avid golfer and U.K. fan. He is survived by his wife, Jane Ogg Steele; one daughter, Christine (Robert) Osborne of Owensboro, KY; two sons, Wesley Steele of Madisonville and Robert (Etha) Steele of Earlington, KY; one brother-in-law, Gerald Dukes of Greenville, KY; five grandchildren, Rachel, Kevin, Caitlin, Matt, and Angel; and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dennis Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday and from 12:00 P.M. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
