Eleanor A. Oglesby Obituary (1922 - 2005)

Mrs. Eleanor A. Oglesby, 82, of Madisonville, KY, died at 3:45 P.M. on Monday, May 9, 2005, at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. \ Born November 15, 1922, in Alpena, MI, she was the daughter of the late Michael LaFave and Ada LaCross LaFave. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harvey L. Oglesby on December 13, 2003, and four brothers, Donia LaFave, Clyde LaFave, Eugene LaFave, and Napoleon LaFave. \ She was a homemaker and was retired from Peoples Bank in Madisonville. She was active in many community activities, serving as president in the Womens Professional Business Organization and other civic activities. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. \ Mrs. Oglesby is survived by two sons, Harvey A. Oglesby of Chicago, IL, and Ronald H. Oglesby of Jacksonville, FL; one daughter, Eleanor L. Wells of Madisonville; one brother, Walter Tank of Mesa, AZ; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be Thursday, May 12, 2005, at 2:00 P.M., at Christ the King Catholic Church with Father Gerald Calhoun officiating. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Mausoleum. \ Visitation will be Wednesday, May 11, 2005, from 4:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and from 12:00 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. on Thursday at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. Prayer services will be held Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be Lane Dickerson, Harvey Oglesby Jr., David Kellerman, Tom Hughes, Brad Smith, Chris Applegate, and Hayden Smith. \ Memorials may take the form of contributions to Christ the King Catholic Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \ \ \
