Ray Masoncup Obituary (1922 - 2010)

Mr. Ray Masoncup, 88, of Madisonville, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 at NHC Healthcare in Madisonville. \ He was born April 29, 1922 in Hanson, KY to the late Virgil Masoncup and Nettie Dunkerson Masoncup. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Roy Masoncup. \ Mr. Masoncup was a heavy equipment operator for the state highway department for 32 years. \ He is survived by his wife 54 years, Dorothy Mae Shaw Masoncup of Madisonville; four sons, Danny Ray Masoncup of Hanson, Jodie (Barbara) Masoncup of White Plains; Michael Wayne (Sue) Masoncup of Madisonville and Richard Tommy Masoncup of Madisonville; one sister, Gladys Gibson of Hanson; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. \ Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Jackie Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. \ Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and after 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home. \ There will be a Masonic Service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:00 P.M. \ Pallbearers will be Jodie Masoncup, Michael Masoncup, Richard Masoncup, Glenn Shaw and John Gibson. \ Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to the Olive Branch Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
