Mary Evelyn Leasure Edwards Obituary (1916 - 2010)

Mary Evelyn Edwards (nee Leasure), 93, passed away Feb. 25, 2010. She was born March 24, 1916 in Ilsley, KY. \ Mary was valedictorian of her graduating class at Madisonville High School. She was the worlds greatest mother and grandmother, and was a devoted and beloved school teacher. She taught English and Latin at District 228, Cook Co., IL for 17 years. \ Preceded in death by her husband, William Edwards, and brothers, Harold and Carl Leasure. She is survived by children, Bill (Laura) Edwards Jr. and Mary (Peter) Drury; grandchildren, Bill, Tom and David Edwards and Carolyn, Joanna, Samuel, and Julia Drury; brother, J.C. Leasure; and nieces and nephews. \ Calling hours will be Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 from 1-3 pm at Cox Funeral Home, 1376 High St., Wadsworth, OH 44281 (one mile north of I-76 on St.Rt. 94). Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, 2285 N. Main St., Madisonville, KY 42431, where family will receive friends from 12-2 pm prior to the service. Burial will be at Oddfellows Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust.
