Fitzhugh L. Roy Obituary (1919 - 2010)

Mr. Fitzhugh L. Roy, 91, of Madisonville passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. \ He was born August 22, 1919 in Birmingham, AL to the late Hermie Eugene Roy and Maude Morton Roy. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lois C. Roy. \ Mr. Roy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madisonville. He was also a World War II Marine Corps Veteran , a 58 year member of the American Legion and former officer of Post 6 Madisonville as well as a member of the Madisonville Masonic Lodge #143 F&AM, a Rizpah Shriner and past president of the Noon Kiwanis Club. \ He is survived by one daughter, Deborah Ann Roy of Madisonville; two sons, Frank (Bonnie) Roy and Dr. John (Cindy) Roy both of Madisonville; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. \ Family would like to express appreciations to his caregivers, Doris Clark and Kellie Pate. \ Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. \ Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday and from 12:00 P.M. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be Craig Rice, Blake Taylor, Mathew Stone, Brad Roy, Andrew Deardorff and Chris McDonald. \ Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the American Heart Association or First Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
