Frances \Jean\"" Buchanan Obituary (1928 - 2003)

s. Jean Buchanan, 75, of Madisonville, died at 12:05 P.M. Monday December 15, 2003 at her residence. \ Born March 10, 1928, in Hopkins County, KY, she was the daughter of the late John Hammonds and Rebecca Baker Skaggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Coleman Hammonds and Ray Hammonds. \ Ms. Buchanan was a head cook for Gray Bros. Cafeteria in Mooresville, IN, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW #5480 in Madisonville. \ She is survived by her companion, Charles Proctor of Madisonville; two daughters, Debra L. Tyree of Mooresville, IN, and Amy K. Workman of Dawson Springs, KY; two sons, Frank Messamore of Hawaii and Capt. John E. Buchanan of Colorado Springs, CO; two sisters, Marie Davis of Marion, KY, and Lorene Stanley of Madisonville; one brother, John D. Hammonds of Maine; and nine grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Sisk officiating. Burial will follow in Grapevine Cemetery. \ Visitation will be 12:00 P.M. until the service on Friday. \ \
