Price Barton

\ Price Barton, 85, of Madisonville, KY passed away, Saturday, April 18, 2015 at his residence. \ \ Mr. Barton was born on February 14, 1930 in Madisonville to the late Herbert Barton and Cassie Shadrick Barton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Prowse Barton; one sister, Mary Olga Metcalfe; and two brothers, Thomas Barton and John Lyman Barton. \ \ He worked as a postmaster. He was a Rotarian and a 60 year member of First Baptist Church. He was a current member of First United Methodist Church. He loved antique cars, entertaining friends, and BBQ'ing. \ \ He is survived by one daughter, Beth (John) Robertson of Madisonville; one son, Michael Franklin Barton of Madisonville; and Linda (Ed) Schutter of Marietta, GA; four grandchildren, Bart Robertson, Lindsey Schutter, Jamie Long, and Olivia Kirks; three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews; and caregivers, Brenda Hanks, Shevon Wilkes, Karen LeGrand, Andrea Clark, Kreene Jones, and Jeremy McKinsey. \ \ Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Glen Sowards and Rev. Dale Carden officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. \ \ Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the service time on Thursday. \ \ Pallbearers will be Frank DeFini, Larry Suthard, Duncan Metcalfe, Robert Metcalfe, Terry Prowse, and Hayes Kington. \ \ Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church-Youth Ministry. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home. \ \
