J.C. Leasure Obituary (1919 - 2018)

Mr. J.C. Leasure, 99, of Madisonville, KY, died Sunday, September 23, 2018, at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson. Born July 2, 1919 in Ilsley, KY, he was the son of the late Joe Leasure and Lula Brooks Leasure. He was also preceded in death by his wife Emma Porter Leasure; two brothers, Harold Leasure and Carl Leasure; and one sister, Mary Edwards. Mr. Leasure was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville where he served as a deacon and was a longtime choir member. He was a University of Kentucky graduate, a Lifetime member of the UK Alumni Association, and a UK Fellow. He was past Commander of the VFW #6, a former mason, shriner, and a member of the Scottish Rite. He is survived by a daughter, Claudia Arnett of Madisonville; a son, Douglas (Lynn) Leasure of Madisonville; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 27, 2018, at the Madisonville First Baptist Church with Rev. Jim McMurtrie officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, September 27, 2018, from 12:00 P.M. until the service time on Thursday at the church. Memorials may take the form of donations to the Activities Fund at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center. Envelopes will be available at the church.
