John William \JW\"" Gibson Obituary (1931 - 2013)

\ John William 'JW' Gibson, 81, of Hanson, KY, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 27, 2013. \ He was born October 6, 1931 in Webster County to the late William Thomas Gibson and Hallie Hawkins Gibson. He was also preceded in death by one brother, and two sisters. \ Mr. Gibson owned and operated Gibson Log Lumber. He was a member of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in his garage, maintaining his equipment, watching Western movies, vacationing in the West when he was younger. \ He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gladys Gibson of Hanson; Peggy Ferrell of Hanson and Sherry (Tommy) Oldham of Downers Grove, IL; one son, John (Rhonda) Gibson Jr of Hanson; two sisters, Bea (James) Cunningham of Madisonville and Brenda (Henry) Faughn of Madisonville; three brothers, James (Elaine) Gibson of Madisonville, Billy (Becky) Gibson of Madisonville, and Bobby Gibson of TN; and grandchildren, Shane Cartwright, Aubry Honeycutt, Jessica Oldham, and Katie Oldham; and great grandchildren, Christian (C.K) Honeycutt, Cole Cartwright, and Ben Cartwright. Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Taylor and Bro. Bobby Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery in Hanson. \ Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. to service time on Thursday at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be Johnny Stevens, Donnie Stevens, Jody Masoncup, Mike Masoncup, Tommy Oldham, and Pat Dockrey. \ Memorial contributions may be made to Olive Branch Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
