Marvin Riley Obituary (1918 - 2008)

Mr. Marvin Riley, 89, of Madisonville, KY, died Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 10:22 P.M. at his residence. \ He was born July 3, 1918 in Muhlenberg County, KY, to the late William Lawrence Riley and Cora Lee Sullivan Riley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vida Pressley Riley on December 24, 1995; one brother, Burnie Riley and three sisters, Imogene Pressley, Evelyn Vincent and Faye Domotte. \ He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a W.W.II Army veteran. He was a cabinet maker for Madisonville Contractors before retiring. \ Mr. Riley is survived by one daughter, Jeanetta Jan Riley of Madisonville; one sister, Lois Swope of Clarksville, TN; two brothers, Earl Riley of Clearwater, FL and Randle Riley of Dalton, KY; a caregiver, Mary Cartwright of Earlington, KY and several nieces & nephews. \ Funeral services will be Sunday, April 20, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Jared Leet and Pastor Doug Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. \ Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and from noon until the service time on Sunday at the funeral home. \ Memorials may take the form of donations to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church or Park Avenue Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \ \
