Luella Sedgwick Yonts Obituary (1925 - 2007)

Mrs. Luella Sedgwick Yonts, 82, of Madisonville, KY, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 12:05 P.M. at NHC Healthcare in Madisonville following a long illness. \ She was born May 7, 1925, in Lenox, MA, to the late Thomas & Alma Houser Sedgwick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Edward Yonts and a brother, Thomas Oliver Sedgwick. \ Mrs. Yonts was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Madisonville. She was a retired registered dietitian for the Regional Medical Center from 1962-1997. For 30 years she was the department head for Food Services. She had been a member of the Business and Professional Womens Club of Madisonville and a past district president of the Kentucky Dietetic Association. \ She is survived by her husband, Woodrow Yonts of Madisonville; four sons, Thomas Yonts of Lexington, KY, Richard Yonts of Cory, NC, Robert Yonts of Madisonville and John Yonts of Bowling Green, KY; eleven grandchildren, Thomas Patrick Yonts, James Yonts, Angela Yonts, Tiffany Yonts, Jordan Yonts, Noah Yonts, Zachary Yonts, Claire Yonts, Faith Yonts, Matthew Yonts and Joshua Yonts; two brothers, Gilbert Sedgwick and Henry Sedgwick, both of Massachusetts and a sister, Inez Sedgwick Walker of Auburn, WA. \ Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 26, 2007 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville with Pastor Weyman McGuire and Rev. Jeff Calhoun officiating. Burial will follow in Grapevine Cemetery. \ Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and from 9:00 A.M. until the service time on Monday at the funeral home. \ Memorials may take the form of donations to First United Methodist Church Children & Youth Renovation Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
