Marcella W. Griffin

Mrs. Marcella W. Griffin, 79, of Madisonville, KY, died at 2:00 A.M. Friday, May 27, 2005, at NHC Healthcare in Madisonville. \ Born January 12, 1926 in Hopkins County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Williams and Ruby DeArmond Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert G. Griffin, November 12, 2003. \ Mrs. Griffin retired as a clerk for A & P Store after 30 years and then retired from Kentucky Bank & Trust Co. after 15 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the ABC Choir, United Methodist Women and the Upper Room Sunday School Class. \ Surviving are two daughters, Jo Ann Smith of Mortons Gap, KY and Mary Jane Edwards of Hanson, KY; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Edwards, Amy Wickham, Suzanne Adams, Kelly Gibson and Brandon Lee & two great grandchildren, Courtney Adams and Jackson Wickham. \ Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 30, 2005 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Weyman McGuire and Dr. Don Davis officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Hanson. \ Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday and after 11:00 A.M. Monday. \ Pallbearers will be Bill Hailey, Vann Austin, Gary Russell, Joe Austin, Bruce Wickham and Ricky Adams. \ Memorials may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \ \ \
