Marion Woodrow "Woody" Morris

Marion W. 'Woody' Morris, 75 of Madisonville, KY passed away, Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.
Mr. Morris was born April 11, 1942 in Hopkins Co., KY to the late Leotis Morris and Margaret Parris Morris. He was also preceded in death by his previous wife, Joy Morris; one son, Chip Morris; grandchild, Bailey Morris; three brothers, Amon Ray Morris, Charles Morris, and JE Morris; and two sisters, Wilda Anderson and Gladys Clark.
He was a member of the UMWA and he attended the New Good Hope Church in Mannington. He was a coal miner for Island Creek Coal and a pilot car escort.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Morris; one daughter, Kathy Morris of Madisonville; one son, Jason Morris of Toledo, OH; one sister, Barbara (Glen) Dame of Hanson; three grandchildren, Lacey (Brian) Phillips, Riley Morris, and Blake Morris; two great grandchildren, Kylee Brown and Donovan Brown; three step children, Tammi Jackson of Morganfield, KY, Kimberly Tillman of San Antonio, TX, and Amber-Leigh Eastwood of Diamond, KY; 11 step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Phaup and Bro. Dustin Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Grapevine Cemetery.
Visitation will from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
