Rev. Ramon H. Davis Obituary (1926 - 2007)

Rev. Ramon H. Davis, 80, of Madisonville, KY died at 5:26 A.M. Sunday, June 3, 2007, at his residence. \ Rev. Davis was born October 8, 1926 in Madison, IL to William Oliver Davis and Naomi Pearl Mundy Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Johnny Davis, Noel Davis and David Davis. \ Rev. Davis was a graduate of Berean College. He had been an ordained Assembly of God Minister for 47 years and had pastored for 50 years. He served as Pastor for eleven churches in four states and served as Presbyter in the Kentucky District of the Assembly of God. He is a member of Covenant Community Church and is a Kentucky Colonel. \ He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Elaine Harris Davis; one son, Dennis Davis of Madisonville; two daughters, Sandra Suhre and Janice Gillispie, both of Madisonville; four brothers, William Davis, Paul Davis and Dale Davis all of Belleville, IL and Joseph Davis of Millstadt, IL; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. \ Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Covenant Community Church with Rev. Ron Crum, Rev. Joe Girdler, Rev. Michael Knight, Rev. David Raynaud and Karen Siddle officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery near Manitou, KY. \ Pallbearers will be Michael Hale, Dennis Davis II, Gilbert Gillispie, Joseph Davis, Dale Davis and Craig Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be William Davis and Paul Davis. \ Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Covenant Community Church. \ Memorials may take the form of donations to the Rev. Ramon H. Davis Memorial Fund, Covenant Community Church, 1055 N. Main St., Madisonville, KY 42431. \
