Reuben Jones Stepp Obituary (1932 - 2017)

Reuben Jones Stepp, 85, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at NHC Healthcare in Madisonville. Mr. Stepp was born February 11, 1932 in Nortonville, KY to the late John Stepp, Sr. and Elizabeth Rodgers Stepp. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lou Foster Stepp in 2016; three sisters, and three brothers. Reuben was self-employed and was the owner of Kentucky Car Port. He was a Jehovah's Witness. He enjoyed gardening and sharing in the public ministry. He is survived by one daughter, Linda (Billy) Basham of Hanson; two grandchildren, Scott (Wendy) Basham of Hanson, and Beverly (Billy) Sargent of Slaughters, KY; his twin brother, James (Shirley) Stepp of Hopkinsville, KY; and four great grandchildren, Lindsay (Joel) Lamb of Eddyville, KY, Claire Basham of Hanson, Levi (Haley) Worth of Hanson, and Tristian Basham of Slaughters; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Slaton officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday and after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Billy Sargent, Levi Worth, Joel Lamb, Alan Oakley, David Bryant, and Tristian Basham.
