Roelan Jesse Ledbetter Obituary (1920 - 2017)

Roelan Jesse Ledbetter passed away at 11:37 AM Sunday November the 12th at Sayre Christian Village in Lexington Kentucky. Roelan was born in Providence Kentucky on May 17th 1920 to the late Vera Ethel and Sidney Harmon Ledbetter. He was preceded in death by his adored wife Katherine Imogene Ledbetter, brother Harold George Ledbetter and Sister in law Thelma Ledbetter . He is survived by his two sons, Ronald and Stephen Ledbetter, two daughter in laws, Karen and Cheryl Ledbetter, two nieces Faye Walker and Patty Atwell, eight grandchildren Aaron, Ashley, Mathew, Stephen, Natalie, Jonathan, Allen and Katy. He leaves ten great grandchildren, Abby, Mason, Eli, Emmett, Dean, Ronnie, Connor, Cayden, Tallulah and Rowan. He was a devoted Father, husband and grandfather and a long standing member of The First Christian Church where he was a Deacon, Elder and, Sunday School Teacher. He was a Lay Minister to churches in Beach Grove, Slaughters, Nortonville, and Earlington. He and Mother were members of the Lelia Dempsey group and for years he played the role of Jesus in The First Christian Church's Last Supper portrayal. Visitation with the family will be Thursday November 16th from 5:00 -to 7:00 PM at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 Friday November 17th with a short visitation from 1:00 until 2:00 at the First Christian Church. The Reverend Kara Foster will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the New Beulah Cemetery in Beulah. Memorial donations may be made to the Sayre Christian Village in Lexington.
