Sybil L. Hollis

Sybil Lee Hollis, 87, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Baptist Health Hospital.
Mrs. Hollis was born July 1, 1928 in Muhlenberg County to the late Jessie Edward Long and Eunice Rager Long. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Hollis in 1998, one son, Tim Hollis in 2007, two brothers, and seven sisters.
Sybil was a member of Earlington Assembly of God. She loved dancing. Her family was her life. She enjoyed cooking and spoiling her dog, Mollie.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley (Kirby) Allinder of Madisonville, three sons; Maurice Gregory (Marlene) Hollis of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Michael Edward (Stephanie) Hollis of Midland, KY, and Mark (Teresa) Hollis of Dawson Springs, KY, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Bruce officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday and from 12:00 P.M. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Harlee Hollis, Coty Jones, Adam Arnett, Joe Blue, Bill Long, and Alvin Hunter. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Long and Ricky Long.
