Thurman \Jimmy\"" Earl Clark Obituary (1917 - 2008)

Mr. Thurman Jimmy Earl Clark, 90, of Madisonville, KY died at 2:02 P.M. Monday, July 21, 2008 at Lakeview Estate Special Care Unit in Birmingham AL. \ Born November 28, 1917 in Earlington, KY, he was the son of the late Samuel Mason Clark and Ethel Jane Trover Clark. He is preceded in death by his brother, Rodman Clark. \ He was a retired coal miner from the West Kentucky Coal Company and a member of the First Christian Church in Madisonville where he was an Elder Emeritus. He was also Past Master at the E.W. Turner 548 F&AM Masonic Lodge in Earlington. He was the founder and operator of Clarks Belt Repair. \ He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lois Lorraine Farmer Clark of Madisonville; two daughters and son-in-laws, JoAnn (Mohamed) El-Assal, San Diego CA, Carol (Jon) Gould of Birmingham; one son and daughter-in-law, Dallas (Judy) Clark of Madisonville; one brother, Bobby Clark, Madisonville; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. \ Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 25, 2008 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Don McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington, KY. \ Pallbearers will be Brian Gregory, Christopher Gregory, Mason Overfield, Mark Troop, Barry Vaughn, Leon Peyton, Roger Butler and Bob McCracken. Honorary pallbearers will be Neil El-Assal and Ramsey El-Assal. \ Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday and after 9:00 A.M. until service time. \ Memorials may take the form of donation to the First Christian Church of Madisonville. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
