William Earl

William Anthony Earl, 72, of Smithland, KY, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Mercy Health – Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY.
He was born January 31, 1954, in Madisonville, KY, to the late William Cornelius Earl and Julia Smith Earl. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by the love of his life, Jessie McVay Earl, and his brother, Keith Earl.
William was a retired coal miner for Alliance Coal at Riverview, in addition to being a retired pastor from Oakhill Holiness Church in Nortonville, KY. When he wasn’t at work or in the pulpit, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing the yard, and grilling steaks. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his wife, who passed away.
He is survived by his three sons, Mark (Victoria) Earl, Scotty (Charity) Earl, and Bobby (Beth) Earl; his three sisters, Laura, Denise, and Paula; his brother, Danny Earl; his six grandchildren, Logan, Brittany, Lucas, Julia, Jessica, and Jelayne; and several great-grandbabies.
A memorial service will be held on July 11, 2026, at 5 PM at Ilsley Christian Church at 100 Ilsley Spur, Dawson Springs, Ky.
