William R Groves

William R. Groves, 91, of Madisonville passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, KY.
Mr. Groves was born March 22, 1925 in Central City, KY to the late Lawrence Groves and Winnie Jones Groves. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Ferrell Groves; a sister, Marie Groves, and two brothers, Bill Groves and Lyndall Groves.
William was a retired coal miner and a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He loved to fish and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Teresa (Randall) Duncan of Madisonville and Trena (Terry) Johnson of Madisonville; one son, Barry (Jennifer) Groves of Eddyville, KY; one sister, Joyce Jennings of Madisonville; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Grapevine Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Terry Johnson, Scott Harris, and Randall Duncan
Memorial contributions can be made to the Western Kentucky Veterans Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
