Willie "Bill" Rainwater Obituary (1929 - 2016)

Willie "Bill" Ray Rainwater, 86, of Manitou, KY passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Baptist Health in Madisonville with friends and family present. Mr. Rainwater was born November 21, 1929 in Manitou, KY to the late Noble Wesley Rainwater and Hattie Walls Rainwater. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clayborn and Don Rainwater. Willie retired from Peabody Coal Company. He enjoyed spending time with his family and gardening. He was of the nondenominational faith and loved serving God. He lived a faithful life for years and was a good example to all. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris Harris Rainwater; three children, Donald (Marlow) Rainwater of Manitou, Daphne (Bill) Blalock of Manitou, and Dwight (Barbara) Rainwater of Manitou; seven grandchildren, Marle Dee Brackett, Christopher Owen Blalock, Stacie Kay Rainwater Snyder, Bradford Ryan (Rachel) Blalock, Wesley Hugh (Christie) Rainwater, Nathan Edwin (Crystal) Rainwater, and Jeremy Tyler Rainwater; eight great grandchildren, Taylor Brackett, Paige Rainwater, Kailyn Rainwater, Tanner Brackett, Logan Rainwater, Sydney Rainwater, Whyson Blalock and Hope Rainwater; two sisters, Marilyn Villines of Madisonville, KY and Brenda (Jerry) Sisk of Madisonville; and two brothers, Charles Rainwater of Evansville, IN and Ralph (Judy) Rainwater of Madisonville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Jerome Frandle and Darin Jenson officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday and 11:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Chris Blalock, Brad Blalock, Wesley Rainwater, Nathan Rainwater, Tyler Rainwater and Ed Payton. Honorary pallbearers will be Tanner Brackett and Logan Rainwater.
